Smriti Irani mourns Lata Mangeshkar's demise, shares an old picture of the singer on Instagram

Union Minister Smriti Irani took to Instagram to pay tribute to Lata Mangeshkar. The legendary singer breathed her last at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on February 6.

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar died at the age of 92 on February 6. Union Minister Smriti Irani took to Instagram to pay tribute to the singing prodigy. The Union Minister shared an old picture of Lata Mangeshkar and wrote how she would miss their conversations.

“I want to remember you this way. In your voice the world heard a melody, I gave a listen to the comfort, the hope you brought to us all. I will never forget the bemused looks we got from you as we pitter-pattered around a legend we had the privilege to be with.. will miss our talks Di ..now the angels have a better voice .. now the heavens rejoice with your music (sic),” Smriti Irani wrote sharing the picture.

Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on January 8 after she tested positive for Covid-19. She was under treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) over the past couple of weeks. After showing signs of improvement recently, her health condition suddenly deteriorated. Unfortunately, she passed away on Sunday.
