Sidhu Moose Wala's last song Jaandi Vaar put on hold after singer's parents file complaint

Sidhu Moose Wala's last song Jaandi Vaar has been put on hold from release. Music composer Salim Merchant had recorded the song Jaandi Vaar with late singer Sidhu Moose Wala in 2021. The song was all set to release on September 2.
Punjab court on Monday stayed the release of late singer Sidhu Moose Wala's song Jaandi Vaar and ordered the removal of all promotional materials and advertisements related to the song on all media platforms. The order came after a lengthy argument before the Mansa District Court on a plea by Sidhu Moose Wala's parents, who succeeded in obtaining an ex-parte ad-interim order against Salim Sadruddin Moledina Merchant and Sulaiman Sadruddin Moledina Merchant, known as Salim-Sulaiman.
Sidhu Moose Wala's parents were represented by senior advocate Amit Jhanji, who was briefed by a team from Karanjwala & Co., led by partners Samarjit Patnaik and Meghna Mishra. The parents have filed a suit for permanent injunction against Salim-Sulaiman and his company, Merchant Records Pvt Ltd, along with some other entities and digital platforms.
The suit seeks to restrain the unauthorized proposed release of Moose WMOOala's song Jaandi Vaar on various social media and online platforms due to copyright infringement, as well as the illegal use of late Moose Wala's name and image.
The release was announced by Salim-Sulaiman on their YouTube and Instagram accounts. They announced the digital signature of Moose Wala as well as the sale of merchandise and NFT rights of the song to the public at large.
Salim Merchant shared a video announcing the release date of Jaandi Vaar. He also recalled meeting Sidhu Moose Wala through Afsana Khan. Sharing the video, Salim wrote, "Our song with @sidhu_moosewala is releasing on September 2. This song titled Jaandi Vaar is a tribute to Sidhu and is in loving memory of him. A part of the proceeds will go to Sidhu’s family. It features @sidhu_moosewala & @itsafsanakhan You can own a part of this song by going to @kalakaar_io (sic)."
