India Today
Dhurandhar: The Revenge is only a weekend old, and it has already shattered the biggest records set by the previous Hindi blockbusters like Jawan, Pathaan and Animal. Here's a detailed look at its records, and the comparison with other biggies.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge is witnessing extraordinary traction at the box office, with a phenomenal opening weekend. The film has already outpaced several recent Bollywood blockbusters, including, Jawan, Pathaan, and Animal, in terms of early box office numbers.
After its first three days in India, the Aditya Dhar directorial stood at Rs 339.27 crore, significantly higher than the three-day collections of the Shah Rukh Khan-led films and the Ranbir Kapoor starrer, reported the trade website Sacnilk.
Dhurandhar: The Revenge has also set new benchmarks. It has become the first film in Indian cinema history to net over Rs 100 crore in a single day from the Hindi version alone. Notably, it is also the first Hindi film to record two consecutive Rs 100 crore single-day collections domestically. The spy thriller earned Rs 113 crore nett on Day 3 (Saturday), followed by Rs 114.85 crore on Day 4 (Sunday).
Previously, it was RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli, that had crossed the Rs 100 crore single-day mark, and that too in Telugu.
Following its extended opening weekend, the film has collected Rs 454.12 crore nett in India and grossed Rs 691.32 crore worldwide. With this, the sequel has surpassed the Rs 400 crore nett mark, recording the biggest opening weekend ever for a Bollywood title and the second biggest for an Indian film, behind only Pushpa 2: The Rule. The film is setting a new benchmark that remains unmatched by previous blockbusters.
The momentum shows no signs of slowing down, with advance bookings for Monday already described as historic. The film is now eyeing an impressive Rs 50 crore on a working day, once considered an unthinkable figure. The next milestone in sight is the elusive Rs 1000 crore mark within the opening week itself.

Aditya Dhar doesn't make it easy to watch Dhurandhar: The Revenge. He lets you experience the discomfort, the silence that haunts and the screams that linger longer than you want. But at the centre of it all is India's clear policy: anti-terror, not anti-Pakistan. Consider this your spoiler warning.
