Haryana Police has taken down 857 social media links linked to Badshah's controversial song Tateeree amid growing legal heat. The crackdown comes as authorities warn of strict action and the controversy deepens.
Haryana Police has intensified its action against Badshah's controversial song Tateeree, taking strict measures across digital platforms. According to the latest figures released by Panchkula Police, a total of 857 links related to the song have been taken down so far, including 154 YouTube videos and 703 Instagram Reels.
The development comes amid multiple FIRs in Haryana against Badshah over the content of the song. The situation escalated after the Haryana State Commission for Women sought his arrest for failing to appear before the court despite multiple summons.
The video, flagged as objectionable, inappropriate and vulgar, particularly involving women, features school girls dancing to the song in the state.
Police officials said that this action is being carried out in coordination with various social media platforms under due legal process. Notices have been issued to the platforms, directing them to remove all versions of the song, including re-uploads, short videos, and other formats. The move aims to curb objectionable content, particularly material containing inappropriate language targeting women and minors.
Haryana Director General of Police Ajay Singhal stated that any form of objectionable content violating the dignity of women and minors will not be tolerated in the state, and strict legal action will continue in cases like Tateeree.
He added that monitoring and enforcement on digital platforms have been further strengthened to ensure compliance with the law and to send a positive message to society. The DGP also emphasised that the Haryana government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, is fully committed to creating a safe and responsible digital environment, with police and administration working together continuously toward this goal.
