SCSC launches "Dialogue for a Better Tomorrow" in Cyberabad, promoting safety, health awareness, and community collaboration for a brighter future.
The Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) on Tuesday launched an initiative titled “Dialogue for a Better Tomorrow” during an awareness programme held in Cyberabad, bringing together representatives from law enforcement agencies, corporate organisations and civil society to discuss issues related to safety, public health and responsible community participation.
Addressing the gathering, Cyberabad Police Commissioner and SCSC chairman M. Ramesh emphasised the importance of ensuring women’s safety and acknowledged the role women play in shaping families and society. He also highlighted the growing need for greater health awareness and food safety, urging citizens to adopt healthier dietary habits and encourage the consumption of organic and unadulterated food.
Referring to the concept “From Kitchen to Clinic”, he said prevention of many health issues begins with everyday lifestyle choices. While authorities continue to take action against food adulteration, he noted that responsible consumer behaviour is equally important in safeguarding public health.
Speaking on women and child protection, Women and Child Safety DCP K. Srujana highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the Cyberabad police, including the work of SHE Teams, Sanghamitra, Margadarshak and the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit, which focus on prevention, protection and timely intervention in cases related to women and child safety.
She also drew attention to the challenges faced by members of the transgender community, many of whom experience rejection within their families and migrate to cities in search of acceptance and livelihood. Referring to a support initiative called “Vikalp”, she said the centre trains members of the transgender community to counsel others while also helping them rebuild confidence, prepare resumes and identify employment opportunities. She urged corporate organisations and institutions to support such efforts by providing job opportunities that enable dignified and independent lives.
The programme concluded with the formal launch of “Dialogue for a Better Tomorrow” initiative, accompanied by a collective pledge by participants emphasising the need to work together for a safer, healthier and more disciplined society.
