Satyajit Ray's film Pratidwandi, will screen at Cannes Film Festival 2022 on Thursday, May 18. The film was released in 1970.
The 75th Cannes Film Festival began with a bang on May 17 with India being at the centre of focus. India is the ‘Country of Honour’ at Marche Du Films organised alongside the Cannes Film Festival in France. The gala will conclude on May 28. While R Madhavan's Rocketry: The Nambi Effect will premiere on Thursday, May 19, at Cannes 2022, another Indian film that will screen at Cannes is legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray's 1970 film, Pratidwandi.
The official Twitter handle of Cannes shared the new. "A rare film, an exclusivity: Pratidwandi by the Indian director and great author Satyajit Ray in screening today at 2pm in the Salle Buñuel in a restored version. A screening #CannesClassics in the colors of India, "Country of Honour" of the @mdf_cannes this year. #Cannes2022 (sic)," read the tweet.

Anurag Thakur took to his Twitter handle and shared the news as well. He wrote, "#SatyajitRay has a rich, historic association with #CannesFilmFestival. His 1970 movie ‘Pratidwandi’ will be screened in the #Cannes Classics section of 75th edition of the festival (sic)."
