
S.Vijayakumar assumes charge as Regional Passport Officer, Chennai

S. Vijayakumar appointed as 32nd Regional Passport Officer of Chennai, with previous experience in Indian Embassies abroad.
Indian Foreign Service officer S.Vijayakumar assumed charge as the 32nd Regional Passport Officer of Chennai on Monday, succeeding S. Koventhan, IFS.
According to a press release, Mr.Vijayakumar had earlier served in Indian Embassies in Rome, Kabul and Doha. He graduated in B.E., Electronics & Communication Engineering from the College of Engineering, Guindy, the release said.

The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday ordered the issue of a notice to the State government on a PIL petition, which had complained about disturbances caused to people residing in the localities around the National Public School situated in Rajajinagar 5th block due to use of loudspeakers with high volume in the school and parking of school buses in residential areas.
