Amid Western fears of a planned invasion, Russia has started moving troops from the country’s far east to Belarus for major war games near the Ukraine border, officials said on Tuesday.
Russia is sending an unspecified number of troops from the country’s far east to Belarus for major war games, officials said on Tuesday, a deployment that will further beef up the Russian military presence near Ukraine amid Western fears of a planned invasion.
Amid the soaring tensions, the White House warned that Russia could attack its neighbour at “any point,” while the UK delivered a batch of anti-tank weapons to Ukraine.

Leon Panetta said Iran war was not an unexpected risk. He pointed out that for years, US security officials have known Iran could disrupt global oil supplies by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, this was a well-known danger, but one that appears to have been overlooked in the current conflict.
