
Respite for Telangana as thunderstorm predicted in 25 districts, including Hyderabad

IMD issues thunderstorm alert for 25 Telangana districts, including Hyderabad, due to intense heat wave conditions.
In a respite from the intense heat wave sweeping across Telangana, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a thunderstorm alert for 25 districts, including Hyderabad, for Saturday, April 26. According to the forecast released on Saturday morning, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are likely to occur at isolated places across the state.
The districts under alert include Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Rajanna Sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, and Mahabubnagar.
The IMD has extended the alert into Sunday, April 27, for several districts including Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Medak, Kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, and Jogulamba Gadwal.
The development comes after several districts recorded extreme temperatures on Friday, with five districts crossing the 45 degrees Celsius mark. Data from the Telangana Development Planning Society (TGDPS) showed that Sirikonda in Adilabad registered the highest maximum temperature at 45.5°C, followed closely by 45.4°C in Narsapur (Nirmal), and 45.3°C each in Raikal (Jagtial) and Mendora (Nizamabad). Maldakal in Jogulamba Gadwal recorded 45.1°C.
Urban pockets were also gripped by the heat, with Uppal in Medchal-Malkajgiri touching 42.5°C and Asif Nagar in Hyderabad recording 41.9°C. Across the state, temperatures in 28 districts ranged between 41°C and 45°C.

The Shakespeare Millennium Club in collaboration with the Annai Velankanni Church (Society of St. Vincent De Paul), conducted a Free Medical Camp on November 23, 2025 at the church premises from 9 am to 6 pm, with Dr. Samundi Sankari and Dr. Divya Sivaraman of Srushti Hospitals, Dr. Sharada L N of Aramba, the Kumaran Dental Clinic, Lychee and Satya Physiotherapy Centre, according to a press release.
