Ram Lakhan has completed 33 years of its release. On this occasion, Anil Kapoor and director Subhash Ghai remembered their iconic movie.

January 27, 2022 marks 33 years of Subhash Ghai's film, Ram Lakhan. The film was about two brothers, Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff. On the occasion of the film's 33rd anniversary, filmmaker Subhash Ghai opened up about how things have changed over the last 33 years. Subhash Ghai forays into OTT space with 36 Farmhouse. On the other hand, Anil Kapoor also took to Twitter to remember the iconic film.

Subhash Ghai says that films are a reflection of society and what happens at a certain point in society, is exactly what filmmakers present on the silver screen. Talking about Ram Lakhan, the director said, "Back when I made Ram Lakhan, it was a common occurrence where one brother was more bent towards corruption and the other brother was honest and in line with customs and traditions. It was a transitional period in India where there were two sons who believed differently and acted differently, but they had a strong bond, and love for each other and, above all, they wanted to do something for their mother."

Talking about the present day, Subhash Ghai added that today two brothers love each other but keep a distance. When it comes to giving money or talking about business, the brothers choose to maintain a safe distance and keep relationships and business different.

He further shared, "Things have changed in 33 years and I had to write a story like 36 Farmhouse, where a mother has two sons, who want to charge each other with murder and, at the same time, the picture in a poor family is different, where the bonding is strong despite all the fights v/s how such stories also exist."

Sharing pictures with Jackie Shroff from his iconic film, Anil Kapoor took to his Twitter handle and wrote, "A film & role that will always have a special place in my heart! Celebrating #33YearsOfRamLakhan...these years have gone by like 1,2 ka 4 you know the rest! #YourLakhan (sic)."
