On the occasion of Rabindra Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar and others tweeted remembering Rabindranath Tagore.
Rabindra Jayanti is commemorated annually in remembrance of Rabindranath Tagore's birth anniversary. Rabindra Jayanti is celebrated on the 25th day of the Bengali month of Boishakh (Pochishe Boishakh). As per the Bengali calendar, the literature laureate was born on this day in the year 1268 (1861 AD).
