A picture that has gone viral on social media features a Sri Lankan couple kissing during protests. The pictures has garnered a lot of attention online.

Unless you have been living under a rock, you will be well aware of the political scenario in the island country of Sri Lanka currently. A country of 22 million people, Sri Lanka is under the grip of an unprecedented economic turmoil, the worst in seven decades, leaving millions struggling to buy food, medicine, fuel and other essentials. There is utter chaos in the country with violent protests breaking out in different parts. However, there is one picture that has emerged on social media which is gaining a lot of traction online.

What is so special about the picture, you ask? Well, the photo features the couple planting a kiss on each other’s lips in the backdrop of a huge crowd of protesters. The couple can be seen indulging in PDA after participating in anti-government protests that led to the taking over of the Prime Minister's office in Colombo.
