
PhD scholar held for his alleged links with outlawed Maoist party, ‘encouraging’ people to join

Kota Srinivas Goud of Osmania University was arrested in a two-year-old UAPA case.
A PhD scholar of the Osmania University, who was the State president of Telangana Vidyarthi Sangam (TVS), was arrested by the L.B. Nagar police of Rachakonda Commissionerate for his alleged links with the outlawed CPI (Maoist) party and ‘encouraging’ people to join.
He was arrested in a two-year-old Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) case.
The 38-year-old Kota Srinivas Goud, a resident of Baudhanagar, Warasiguda, hails from Appannapet, Peddapalli district.

The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday ordered the issue of a notice to the State government on a PIL petition, which had complained about disturbances caused to people residing in the localities around the National Public School situated in Rajajinagar 5th block due to use of loudspeakers with high volume in the school and parking of school buses in residential areas.
