A group of nuns playing football like professionals is not a common sight. Therefore, when this video of a group of nuns playing football emerged on social media, it went crazy viral. Italy is one of the most football-obsessed nations and this viral video was shot in the country. The video was shared on Instagram account IG Italia on Monday and has 3 million views.
In the video which appears to have been shot from the window of a balcony, shows four nuns in their habit, two on each side, tackling a football on a small soccer court.
The video was shared with the caption that read, “Football in Italy is not only the most popular sport but also the most practiced one but not everyone knows that last year the first national football team in the world was born. In reality, in the ecclesiastical sphere there is already a European league made up of national teams whose players are priests, but only now has it been possible to create a female team.
