The website has described the Indian cot as “one of a kind” and “original”. It was originally priced at NZD 1200 (Rs 61,980 approximately). However, after a discount, the charpai is now available for a whopping Rs 41,297. For the unversed, a charpai is a bedstead of woven webbing or hemp stretched on a wooden frame on four legs. A traditional charpai is made out of a wooden frame and natural fiber ropes. However, these days you will also find charpais having metal frames and plastic tapes.
