NDA government in Andhra Pradesh to launch month-long ‘Toli Adugu Vijaya Yatra’ programme from June 23
The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government will launch a month- long door-to- door campaign christened ‘Toli Adugu Vijaya Yatra’ (First Step Victory March) from June 23.
Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu held a tele conference with the TDP MLAs, MPs, senior leaders and workers on Friday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said as part of the programme, details of the coalition government’s achievements and schemes implemented in the past one year should be explained to all people. All the party leaders must participate in the programme, Mr. Naidu said.
“Along with sharing what the government has accomplished in the first year, false propaganda must be countered. The opposition, unable to digest our successes, is resorting to insulting and attacking women,” he said, adding, “The NDA workers should take these good initiatives to the people. Every programme we undertake must be communicated to the public.”
The Chief Minister said that a large-scale Yogandhra programme is being conducted in the State. We are planning to celebrate International Yoga Day in Visakhapatnam on June 21 with five lakh participants.
“On the same day, the goal is to involve two crore people in the programme across the State. Already, 2.21 crore people have registered. Those who participate for three days will receive certificates. Yoga should become part of life. We initiated this for a healthy, wealthy and happy society. This is our collective initiative—a movement to place Andhra Pradesh on the world map,” he said, adding, “tomorrow, Yoga Day preparatory events will be held at one lakh locations.”
On Thursday, the event planned with MLAs, MPs, and officials had to be cancelled due to a plane crash in Ahmedabad. Before elections, party workers and leaders widely campaigned about Super-6, the manifesto, and Babu’s security-future guarantee. The coalition government is now implementing them, he said.
