Nine family members, including six children, died after their car plunged into a water-filled well in Nashik while returning from a function.
A joyful family outing turned into a devastating tragedy in Maharashtra’s Nashik district, where nine members of a family, including six children, lost their lives after their car plunged into a water-filled well late on Friday night.
The incident occurred around 11:30 pm in Dindori taluka, nearly 40 km from Nashik city. The family was returning home after attending an annual function.
According to officials, the victims, residents of Indore village, had gone to a social gathering at a banquet hall in Shivajinagar. After the event ended, Sunil Dattatreya Dargode was driving the family back when the accident took place.
Calling the incident a 'brazen attempt to challenge the authority of this Court,' the Chief Justice said the move was carefully planned to stall proceedings and create pressure on officials carrying out their responsibilities.
