Delhi-Dehradun Greenfield Expressway inauguration delayed due to poor lighting issues. NHAI awaits PMO confirmation.
The much-awaited Delhi-Dehradun Greenfield Highway inauguration has been postponed once again. Travelers hoping for a faster journey between Delhi and Dehradun will now have to wait until the second week of April, as the project is not fully ready yet.
One of the key reasons behind the delay is poor lighting on certain stretches of the highway, especially near the Biharigarh area. Streetlights are not functioning properly, making parts of the road unsafe for night travel. Authorities want to fix these issues before opening the highway to the public.
Officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) are currently waiting for confirmation from the Prime Minister’s Office regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s availability for the inauguration. The final date will be announced only after this approval.
