India’s first hydrogen-powered train, called Namo Green Rail, is all set to begin its trial runs starting Monday. The train will travel between Jind and Sonipat and will make two to three trips every day as part of the testing phase.
However, there was a problem filling hydrogen gas in one of the engines, which caused a delay. The railways are being very careful to make sure everything works perfectly before the train is fully operational.
A team from RDSO (Research Design and Standards Organization), based in Lucknow, had already tested the train from February 25th to 28th.
