Nagarjuna breaks silence about Samantha and Naga Chaitanya split, says actress filed for divorce

Nagarjuna, in a recent interview, broke his silence about Samantha and Naga Chaitanya's split. He revealed that it was Samantha's decision to file for divorce.
Samantha and Naga Chaitanya announced their separation after four years of marriage. Months after their announcement, Nagarjuna broke his silence about the couple's decision to part ways. In his interview to an entertainment portal, Nagarjuna revealed that Samantha decided to file for divorce. He also added that problems arose between them after New Year 2021.
In October 2021, Samantha and Naga Chaitanya announced that they were separated. In their statement, the couple refrained from revealing any details regarding their decision to part ways. Reportedly, legal proceedings regarding their divorce are underway.
Nagarjuna, in an interview with Indiaglitz, revealed that Samantha applied for divorce first. He said, "Naga Chaitanya accepted her decision but he was more worried about me, what I would think and what would happen to the family's reputation."
He then added, "Naga Chaitanya consoled me as he thought I will be worried. They have been together for four years in their marriage life, but no problem like this came between them. They were so close and I don't know how it boiled down to this decision. They even celebrated New Year 2021 together. It looks like problems between them have arisen after that."
Reportedly, Naga Chaitanya and his family offered a Rs 200 crore alimony to Samantha. The actress, however, refused to take the alimony, stating that she didn't even want a penny from them.
On the day the couple announced their separation, Nagarjuna reacted on social media. He wrote, "With a heavy heart, let me say this! whatever happened between Sam and Chay is very unfortunate. What happens between a wife and husband is very personal. Sam and Chay are dear to me. My family will always cherish the moments spent with sam and she will always be dear to us! May God bless them both with strength (sic)."
