Hyderabad police conduct midnight drill at Masab Tank to enhance emergency response readiness and coordination among personnel.
A special midnight mobilisation exercise was conducted at Hockey Grounds in Masab Tank by the Hyderabad police with an aim to assess and strengthen emergency response mechanisms. Around 650 personnel, ranging from Home Guards to Assistant Commissioners of Police, drawn from all police stations under the Golconda Zone, participated in the exercise.
The mock drill focused on testing how personnel could converge at a designated spot in the event of an untoward incident. Officers were instructed on coordination protocols, ensuring that every rank, from field staff to senior officials, executed assigned responsibilities in line with zonal control directives.
The exercise also included verification of the availability and working condition of essential equipment required during emergencies, including public addressing systems, riot gear and other field paraphernalia. Golconda DCP G. Chandra Mohan supervised the arrangements and reviewed the alertness levels of officers deployed at key locations around the grounds during the late hours.
Addressing the personnel, the official said that public safety remained the foremost duty of the police and stressed the importance of rapid mobilisation during critical situations at any time. He noted that such drills not only improved operational preparedness but also ensured a prompt response to the public in times of emergency.
