Karur inaugurates a new ₹2.4 crore swimming pool at Government Higher Secondary School, enhancing local sports infrastructure for aspiring swimmers.
Former Minister and Karur MLA V. Senthilbalaji on Wednesday inaugurated the swimming pool constructed by Karur Corporation here.
A sum of ₹2.4 crore was spent on construction of the 4574 sq. ft pool at Government Higher Secondary School. It has separate changing rooms for men and women and toilets. A health centre and rooms for coaches and receptionist are among the facilities at the complex.
Mr. Senthilbalaji said it was one of the best sports infrastructure in Karur. The swimming pool would be a boost for children to lean swimming. It would attract aspiring swimmers. It would function between 6 am and 7 pm.
