FERA members detained in Dindigul
Over 200 members of the Federation of Revenue Associations (FERA) were detained by the police on Wednesday in Dindigul.
The members urged the government to fulfil their nine point charter of demands. They have been staging an indefinite strike for the past 10 days. The demands included better pay for all the revenue department officials, enacting a special law to ensure the safety and the security of the employees and to provide better infrastructure facilities.
The protesting employees included village assistants, surveyors, revenue officers, office assistants, taluk level officials and others.
