Netizens took to Twitter to share the brave stories of policemen and sanitation workers working tirelessly in the floods. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, M K Stalin, also acknowledged their contributions in a tweet.
Several parts of Chennai remained underwater till late Thursday due to the rain-triggered flood situation. The heavy rainfall filled almost the entire city with water, including downtown Mylapore, and heavily swamped several parts of Velachery. Rain water even entered state-run hospitals in KK Nagar and Chromepet. However, in such perilous times, some heroes without capes continued to serve the city without any fear. Netizens took to Twitter to share the brave stories of policemen and sanitation workers working tirelessly in the floods. One post by Twitter user Bala Jith, shows a female sanitation worker tirelessly cleaning the roads amid heavy rainfall. “Been heading back home in the heavy rain, then I saw a sanitation worker woman who’s been doing her work despite the heavy rain. I know it’s their job, but still working during these kinda times is really respectable and appreciable. Place : Royapettah, Chennai,” details the caption.
