Media reports about mass exodus of migrant workers amid the third wave of the pandemic were untrue and States have been asked to be wary of rumour mongering on this issue, Parliament was informed on February 3.
The third wave hit the country last month, forcing States to impose local restrictions to curb the spread of . Some States have imposed night- as well as weekend curfews along with restrictions such as dinning in bars and restaurants.

The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday ordered the issue of a notice to the State government on a PIL petition, which had complained about disturbances caused to people residing in the localities around the National Public School situated in Rajajinagar 5th block due to use of loudspeakers with high volume in the school and parking of school buses in residential areas.
