Tragic death of Prasanna Kumari, Employment Officer, in bus accident days before retirement, leaving colleagues in shock.
Prasanna Kumari, 56, Employment Officer of Mannarkkad taluk who was set to retire from service on May 31, died in a bus accident at Mannarkkad bus-stand on Thursday morning.
A native of Mannoor, near Pathiripala, in the district, Ms. Kumari lost her life when she was hit by an open door of a bus and subsequently run over while crossing the road.
Her body was taken to Government Taluk Hospital, Mannarkkad. The police took the bus and its driver into custody.
Her colleagues said she had been happy and busy with her retirement plans, and had turned emotional at a farewell function organised by them on Wednesday.
