Karnataka rains: IMD forecasts very heavy rain in six districts

Due to this, coastal Karnataka will continue to receive heavy rainfall till June 17.

The IMD Bengaluru said that the upper air cyclonic circulation over Southwest Telangana and the neighbourhood now lies over North Interior Karnataka and adjoining Telangana and Rayalaseema, extending up to 5.8 km above mean sea level titling southwestwards with height. Due to this, coastal Karnataka will continue to receive heavy rainfall till June 17.
According to IMD, heavy to very heavy rain, and extremely heavy rain has been forecast for Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru and Kodagu districts, for which an red alert has been issued for June 13 and 14.
A yellow alert has been issued for Belagavi, Dharwad, Haveri and Hassan districts till June 17.
Some parts of Bengaluru will receive light to moderate rain accompanied with sustained wind till June 17.

The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday ordered the issue of a notice to the State government on a PIL petition, which had complained about disturbances caused to people residing in the localities around the National Public School situated in Rajajinagar 5th block due to use of loudspeakers with high volume in the school and parking of school buses in residential areas.
