Prosenjit Chatterjee and Dev spoke about their upcoming Durga Puja release, Kacher Manus. The duo also shared how this year's festivities would be different from the past two years.
After Zulfiqar, Bengali superstars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Dev will share screen space in Durga Puja 2022 release, Kacher Manush. The festive occasion is a great time for Bengali film releases. Sadly, the last two years were not very eventful for the Bengali film industry, box office-wise. While the pandemic hasn’t left us yet, the present situation is a tad better. Prosenjit and Dev shared how Durga Puja 2022 would be different from the past two years.
Prosenjit Chatterjee, who will be next seen in Kacher Manush with Dev, shared how Durga Puja 2022 will be different. Speaking to Aaj Tak Bangla, the Bengali superstar said, “The last 2 years have been extremely difficult during Durga Puja we didn't even understand back that Durga Puja passed by. Families had missed Durga Puja. Grateful that the world has come out of it. So, for everyone, this puja will be one to look at after 2 years of a very dull puja. And people will watch cinema as well.”
He further recalled an incident where a 90-year-old fan of the actor waited to see him after his show. He said, “There has been a change in the way these public mass shows used to happen. A crazy incident was when a 90-year-old woman waited till 2 am to meet me during a show. She could not walk.”

Dev also shared his views on the matter. He said, “Lockdown had multiple languages. There are people who look at Durga Puja for work. There is a huge industry which relies on Durga Puja. Artists, show makers. For the past years, there were so many people who had a very hard time during Durga Puja. Artist-related shows were stopped due to the pandemic which is a huge industry.”
Dev also spoke about fandom and how it is because of fans that they are stars. He said, “In rural areas, these shows are massive where the fans show so much of love, especially because they can see these stars together. It is their love which makes us stars.”
