
Israel imposes 8,000-year travel ban on Australian man for not paying £1.8m to his ex-wife

Noam Huppert, an Australian national living in Israel, cannot leave the country for 8,000 years, till 31 December 9999, unless he pays an outstanding £1.8m to his ex-wife in child support.
Noam Huppert, a 44-year-old Australian analytical chemist living in Israel since 2012, is not allowed to leave the country until December 31, 9999.
Israel has imposed a travel ban on Huppert for failing to clear his dues towards child support. This is an extension of a 2013 ‘stay of exit’ order. It was imposed on him after his ex-wife moved a family court seeking money to support their children.

Leon Panetta said Iran war was not an unexpected risk. He pointed out that for years, US security officials have known Iran could disrupt global oil supplies by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, this was a well-known danger, but one that appears to have been overlooked in the current conflict.
