A 22-year-old Indian-origin Texas college student succumbed to her injuries sustained at the stampede during rap star Travis Scott's Astroworld Festival in Houston, taking the death toll in the tragedy to nine.
Bharti Shahani, who was about to graduate from Texas A&M University in the spring, was on a ventilator after suffering a severe brain injury in the tragedy on November 5. She died on Wednesday night, according to her family, news agency PTI reported.
