Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain has taken note and assured action against the illegal sale of Covid-19 biomedical waste in the national capital region.
After an India Today investigation revealed the illegal sale and re-use of Covid-19 biomedical waste in the national capital region, Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain took note and assured action. He said, "If this is happening, then it is absolutely wrong. The responsibility of proper disposal of biomedical waste is that of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Keep me informed, I will definitely take action against it."
The matter pertains to a petition filed by one Nikhil Kumar Punia, who was born into an upper-caste Hindu family but supposedly converted to Buddhism later. He, along with another General Category candidate, has sought minority reservation benefits for admission to a Buddhist medical college on grounds of their purported conversion.
