BJP leader Parvesh Verma escalated his attack on Arvind Kejriwal by showcasing the former CM's residence as a lavish 'Sheesh Mahal', calling him Delhi's Rahman Dakait, who looted public money.
A day after calling former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal a ‘Rahman Dakait’ who “looted public wealth” in the Assembly, BJP leader Parvesh Verma on Thursday doubled down on his attack on the AAP chief, taking reporters on a tour of what the party describes as a ‘Sheesh Mahal’, the residence Kejriwal occupied during his tenure as Chief Minister.
Verma, who is the Deputy Chief Minister, shared a video titled Dhurandhar 3 – The Story of Delhi’s Rahman Dakait, highlighting high-value installations and modifications, including a kitchen allegedly costing Rs 1.5 crore with a chimney worth Rs 5 lakh, curtains priced at around Rs 95 lakh, chandeliers worth several lakhs, and a television set valued at Rs 28 lakh.
"Should Mr. Kejriwal really have spent the taxpayers' money, money earned through the blood, sweat, and hard work of the people?" asked Verma in the video, also adding, "Kejriwal had promised that he would neither take a car nor a bungalow. However, we certainly never imagined that he would take a Sheesh Mahal instead".
The BJP leader highlighted features such as marble imported from Vietnam, gold-plated fittings, Bose sound systems, multiple air conditioners, automatic doors and curtains, and luxury furnishings including silk carpets and premium furniture.
He also claimed the house included amenities like a Jacuzzi worth Rs 6 lakh, a sauna room costing Rs 10 lakh, steam and massage facilities, and even multiple kitchens despite being occupied by a small family.
Varma further alleged that the property spanned nearly 1.5 acres and that additional expansion plans worth Rs 60 crore were in place before Kejriwal’s electoral defeat.

The matter pertains to a petition filed by one Nikhil Kumar Punia, who was born into an upper-caste Hindu family but supposedly converted to Buddhism later. He, along with another General Category candidate, has sought minority reservation benefits for admission to a Buddhist medical college on grounds of their purported conversion.

Energy disruption due to the war in the Middle East has exposed India's dependence on imported gas. It has prompted a policy shift mandating a switch from LPG to piped natural gas (PNG) where available. With supply constraints looming, the government is fast-tracking pipelines and pushing a nationwide transition to strengthen energy security.
