Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla expressed 'deep appreciation' to nations for providing priority requirements to help the country combat the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
India, which provided Covid-19 vaccines and medical equipment to more than 150 countries last year, extends “deep appreciation” in that same spirit of friendship and solidarity to those providing priority requirements to help the country battle the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said on Friday. Addressing the UN Security Council high-level meeting on ‘Maintenance of international peace and security: upholding multilateralism and the United Nations-centred international system’, held under the Council Presidency of permanent and veto-wielding member China, Shringla said the Covid-19 pandemic has “sharpened our awareness” of the depth of global interdependence, and on the fact that “the world is only as resilient as the least resilient country.More Related News
