Counselling given to issues related to behavioural, emotional problems and domestic violence
The response to parenting clinics started by the Women and Child Development Department in 12 Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) blocks in the district has largely been good, with a range of issues coming to light. District Child Protection Officer S. Chithralekha said cases of behavioural and emotional problems, domestic violence, and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) were coming to the clinic for which counselling services and referral services were being provided.More Related News
Around 440 MBBS graduates of 2021 are not required to undergo one year of compulsory rural service as per the bond signed by them while joining the medical course through government-quota seats in 2015 as the High Court of Karnataka has said the law, enacted in 2012 for mandatory rural service, remained unenforced for 10 years as it was published in the official gazette only in July 2022.
