Fardeen Khan was MIA from films since Shah Rukh Khan's Dulha Mil Gaya. Can Visfot be his comeback?

Fardeen Khan will break his 11-year-long hiatus from films with Visfot. Ahead of his birthday on March 8, we tell you all about it in this week's Monday Masala.

In 1998, Fardeen Khan received praise for his debut film, Prem Aggan. Blessed with good looks like his father, late legendary actor Feroz Khan, and compliment-worthy acting skills, Fardeen did make it big in Bollywood. A few hits and misses later, Fardeen rode onto the pillion of success, only to fade away from the industry for more than a decade. "Where is Fardeen Khan?" - his fans would ask, but Fardeen was nowhere to be seen.

Cut to 2021: Fardeen announced that he would break his 11-year hiatus from films with Visfot - a film that we are all eagerly waiting for. But what led to his disappearance from cinema? Could Visfot be the film that will bring him back to business? Ahead of his birthday tomorrow, March 8, we tell you all about it in our latest edition of Monday Masala.

Fardeen Khan never touched the 50-film milestone in his career. But, never say never. In his career spanning almost a decade, Fardeen saw an equal number of hits and flops. While films like Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya and Janasheen questioned his acting abilities, No Entry and Heyy Babyy turned out to be his career's biggest hits.

Fardeen’s career started seeing a downfall towards the end of 2007. Most of his films would be box office flops. But then came Rohit Shetty’s All the Best in 2009 and fans thought things would turn around for the actor. But in 2010, Dulha Mil Gaya was released. Fardeen starred with the likes of Shah Rukh Khan and Sushmita Sen in it. The audience had high hopes, but the film turned out to be a box office disaster. And thus, Fardeen faded from cinema.

Just when Fardeen Khan’s absence hit his fans hard, the actor was spotted with a double chin at an event. That’s when he was body-shamed, trolled to the max. But Fardeen took the criticisms in stride. At an event, while addressing the media, Fardeen said, “I have been bashed unnecessarily. I think we need to get over these damn things. I really don't care about it. I am what I am and I can see myself in the mirror. Whatever is deserved is deserved and what's not is not. I just laugh it all off. I don't read much about myself these days.”

And in 2021, Fardeen Khan was back with a bang! The actor was spotted outside casting director Mukesh Chabbra’s office sporting a lean frame and that’s when we knew, Fardeen was never gone.
