New York Governor Andrew Cuomo, who has been accused of sexually harassing 11 women, remained defiant and said "the facts are much different than what has been portrayed". He maintained that he "never touched anyone inappropriately or made inappropriate sexual advances".
An investigation found that Governor Andrew Cuomo sexually harassed nearly a dozen women in and out of state government and worked to retaliate against one of his accusers, New York's attorney general has announced, hastening calls for the Democrat's resignation or impeachment. President Joe Biden was among those who said Cuomo should resign, a high-profile condemnation from a onetime close ally.
Women are treated in the new penal code as being on the same level as "slaves", with provisions allowing either "slave masters" or husbands to administer discretionary punishment, including beatings, to their wives or subordinates. This aspect of the code has drawn particular alarm from rights groups.
