
Facilities needed at Sports University, designs for Gachibowli outdoor stadium reviewed

Telangana CM reviews facilities at Sports University and Gachibowli stadium to enhance Olympic training and standards.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy reviewed the facilities needed at Young India Physical Education and Sports University, resources needed at various stadiums in Hyderabad and other aspects to place the State as a driving force in Olympics.
International-standards facilities, grounds for all forms of sports have to be provided at the university to ensure sportspersons can undergo training for the Olympics, the Chief Minister said at the meeting held in Hyderabad on Monday (March 8, 2026).
He reviewed the designs for Gachibowli outdoor stadium, and facilities needed at the indoor stadium, university complex, hostel buildings and sports grounds. Directions were issued to modernize Kotla Vijay Bhaskar Reddy Stadium, L.B. Stadium, Saroornagar Stadium to meet future needs, training and competitions.
Sports Minister Vakiti Srihari, Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Sports Authority of Telangana Chairman Shiva Sena Reddy, Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao, SAT Managing Director Soni Bala Devi, the Sports University’s Vice Chancellor G Kishore and others participated.

India today manufactures almost every type of railway rolling stock — locomotives, coaches, wagons, metro cars and modern trainsets — in large numbers and at competitive cost. Over decades, the railway manufacturing ecosystem has matured through dedicated Production Units of Indian Railways, PSUs and a large vendor base. Yet, despite this capacity and experience, India remains largely absent from the global market for railway vehicles.
