A Delhi woman shared a disturbing account of two back-to-back Uber rides that left her feeling unsafe, harassed, and emotionally shaken in a now-viral post.
Shared on Instagram by Simran Monga, she opened her post with a biting remark aimed directly at the company, writing, “And I would like my Rs.15.80 back that you so generously charged when I cancelled the 2nd uber stating ‘driver asked me to ride off app’. Guts.”
In a series of slides, Simran laid out the sequence of events from the night, tagging Uber India and stating bluntly, “@uberindia you have a way of making women feel unsafe!!!” She explained that she had avoided sharing negative service experiences online for years, but said this incident pushed her to speak up. “I’ve refrained from sharing any unpleasant service experiences on social media over the past few years, but you’ve totally asked for this one!” she wrote.
She claimed that the first ride was booked around 9 pm from a friend’s house to her home. She said the driver arrived in what she described as “a very run down vehicle,” adding that poor vehicle conditions had sadly become unsurprising. Almost immediately, the driver began blaming her for potential traffic delays. “He kept blaming it on me and speaking to me rudely from the moment I sat in the car,” she wrote.
She also described how the driver ignored repeated requests to roll up the window to reduce exposure to smog. Minutes later, the situation escalated: “After 5 mins, he started hallucinating and screamed at me for asking him to take a turn that he didn’t want to take." She clarified that she had been sitting silently at the time.
She claimed that the scariest moment came when the driver suddenly turned off the main road into a dark bylane. “It was PITCH dark,” Simran wrote, adding that she immediately questioned why he had gone off the mapped route and asked him to return to the main road. The driver allegedly began shouting, insisting she had told him to take that turn.

Leon Panetta said Iran war was not an unexpected risk. He pointed out that for years, US security officials have known Iran could disrupt global oil supplies by blocking the Strait of Hormuz. According to him, this was a well-known danger, but one that appears to have been overlooked in the current conflict.
