Delhi-NCR Weather Update: Sudden weather U-turn as thunderstorm, rain bring sharp relief from heat; IMD issues yellow alert till 20 March.
New Delhi: Delhi-NCR experienced a sudden weather change on the evening of March 18, 2026, as dust-storm conditions and rain brought relief from the rising heat. On Thursday morning, March 19, the city was under cloudy skies and cooler conditions, giving residents a break from the strong sunshine.
The India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert as thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are likely to continue over parts of northwest India, including Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi, till March 20.
Wind speeds may reach 30-40 kmph, with gusts going up to 50 kmph during the afternoon and evening.
