To crackdown on communal crimes and lawlessness, the Karnataka government recently set up a Special Action Force in the three sensitive districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Shivamogga.
However, are the existing legal provisions to curb hate speech adequate at all? How effective will the Special Action Force be in bringing peace to the region?
We discuss with Prof. A Narayana, Professor of public policy and governance at Azim Premji University, Bengaluru, and Manavi Atri, advocate and member of PUCL Karnataka.
