Class 12 State Board exams get under way in central districts

Class 12 State Board exams commence in central districts with over 31,000 students enrolled across multiple examination centres.
The State Board Class 12 examinations began on Monday with 30,924 students, and 645 private candidates appearing for language papers in Tiruchi district.
A total of 31,198 students from 258 schools enrolled for the examinations in 134 centres. In addition, 704 private candidates and 392 students with disabilities were enrolled to take the exam. On the first day, 274 students and 59 private candidates were absent.
About 135 chief supervisors, 156 departmental officers, and 153 flying squads were deployed to monitor the process. As many as 34 officials were assigned to carry the question and answer papers to the examination centres. District Collector V. Saravanan inspected the examination centre at Boiler Plant Girls Higher Secondary School at Tiruverumbur.
In Thanjavur district, of the 26,271 students (12,342 boys and 13,929 girls) enrolled to take up Tamil, Hindi, Arabic, Sanskrit, and French papers, 25,938 candidates attended the examination, with 333 candidates absent. In addition, of the 411 private candidates enrolled, 373 appeared for the exam.
A total of 13,268 students (6,045 boys and 7,223 girls) enrolled to appear for the examinations in 61 centres in Tiruvarur district. About 13,046 candidates (5,941 boys and 7,105 girls) attended the examination. About 65 supervisors and six teams of flying squad were deployed for monitoring.
In Perambalur district, of the 7,276 students (3,724 boys and 3,552 girls) enrolled, 7,207 candidates from 86 schools attended the examination in 36 examination centres, with 69 candidates absent for the language paper. Additionally, 106 private candidates (41 boys and 65 girls) were enrolled. Of them, eight were absent. About 38 chief supervisors, 38 departmental officers, and 63 flying squads were deployed to monitor the process.
