Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the renovated Vidhana Soudha entrance and a solar power project on March 25.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the renovated entrance that leads to the Assembly wing at the Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru on March 25, Speaker U.T. Khader said here on Saturday.
The Chief Minister will also inaugurate on that day the solar power project which will partially supply electricity to the Vidhana Soudha, he said.
Speaking to presspersons, Mr. Khader said that the entrance has beautiful carvings of Karnataka style and has been developed by Karnataka State Forest Industries Corporation (KSFIC) and the Public Works Department.
The Public Works Department has invited bids to develop the entrance gates near the grand steps of the Vidhana Soudha and from the High Court side, he said.
To a question on the construction of a shelter for stray dogs on the Vidhana Soudha premises, he said, “The government itself has to take the final decision on it. We have submitted our views and plans to the State government.”
During the BJP government’s time, the then Speaker K.G. Bopaiah had renovated the Assembly hall by undertaking civil, electrical, and installation of audio-video systems. The occasion to undertake the task was the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Legislative Assembly in 2012.
