Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to inaugurate ₹1.36 lakh crore AM/NS steel plant in Anakapalli, creating one lakh jobs.
Chief Minister N, Chandrababu Naidu is set to perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) plant, near here, on March 23.
The greenfield integrated steel plant will be established at Rajayyapeta in the Nakkapalli Mandal of Anakapalli district.
The project represents a massive investment of ₹1,35,964 crore, and is expected to create employment and livelihood opportunities for approximately one lakh people through both direct and indirect roles.
Spanning 5,465 acres, the plant will be developed in two phases with a total production capacity of 17.8 million MT of steel per year.
In addition to the steel plant, AM/NS India will invest ₹11,198 crore to develop a captive port with a capacity of 50 million MT on 316 acres. This expansion is anticipated to generate another 6,000 jobs, further cementing the Visakhapatnam Economic Region’s status as a major industrial hub.
To ensure the project’s swift completion, the State government is rapidly developing essential infrastructure, including a four-lane road connecting the steel plant to National Highway-16, along with dedicated water and power supplies.
