
Conference on forensic science in Mangaluru facilitates exchange of advanced techniques

Forensic experts gathered in Mangaluru to share advanced techniques in solving complex crimes at the CriFo 2K26 conference.
Knowledge on advanced forensic techniques and their application in solving complex crimes involving both physical and digital evidence was shared during a two-day conference “CriFo 2K26 – Forensic Session” here recenlty.
The Criminology and Forensic Science Department of the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangaluru, organised the conference in association with AVZ Cyber Security Solutions Pvt. Ltd.
It brought together forensic experts, police officials, academicians and students, a release from the college said.
Delivering the keynote address at the inauguration, Dakshina Kannada Additional Superintendent of Police Anil Kumar Bhoomaraddi said forensic science has become an indispensable tool in criminal investigation. He noted that scientific analysis not only strengthens evidence but also ensures accuracy and transparency in the justice delivery system.
The scientific programme featured four expert sessions. K.S. Girish, assistant director at the Regional Forensic Science Laboratory, Mangaluru, spoke on “Advances in Forensic Chemical Analysis.” Pattathil Dhanya Menon, founder-managing director of Avanzo Cyber Security Solutions spoke on “Cybercrime and Digital Forensics: Intuition to Innovation.”
The conference featured practical demonstrations and workshops on forensic applications, including evidence handling and analysis. Over 220 delegates from 18 educational institutions from across the State attended.
