A British woman's video alleging poor service on an IndiGo London-Mumbai flight has drawn attention to the airline's long-haul amenities.
A video shared by a British woman criticising IndiGo’s long-haul service on its London–Mumbai flight has gone viral. It has started a wider conversation about passenger expectations on budget airlines operating international routes.
In the clip, the woman documents her experience aboard the direct London-to-Mumbai flight, calling it ‘shocking’ for an 8 to 9-hour journey. “This is a long-haul flight and IndiGo did not provide pillows or a blanket,” she says, adding that the flight was delayed and offered only a single beverage service throughout the duration.
She also raises concerns about the in-flight entertainment system, describing the screen as ‘absolutely awful’, and shows visuals of what she claims is a cramped aircraft bathroom. However, her strongest criticism is reserved for the onboard meal. Holding up the food tray, she alleges that the food served was “rotten,” a claim that has drawn significant attention online.

The video has sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some users echoed her complaints and questioned IndiGo’s preparedness for long-haul international operations, others pointed out that IndiGo is a low-cost carrier and that passengers should align expectations accordingly. Several commenters also noted that amenities like blankets and multiple meal services are often chargeable or limited on budget airlines, even on longer routes.
IndiGo recently launched long-haul flights connecting India with destinations in Europe, including London, marking a major expansion beyond its traditional short- and medium-haul network. The airline has positioned these services as affordable alternatives to full-service carriers, a strategy that has drawn both interest and scrutiny.
