Bengaluru FC will look to put two seasons of disappointment behind as it begins its 2021-22 Indian Super League (ISL) campaign against NorthEast United FC at Bambolim in Goa on Saturday.
Last season was especially hard, as the club finished seventh, largely playing uninspiring and one-dimensional football. Unsurprisingly Marco Pezzaiuoli, the new head coach, has made “playing a better kind of football” his target.
The squad has changed significantly. Four first-choice starters in defenders Rahul Bheke and Juanan, and midfielders Dimas Delgado and Erik Paartalu have moved on. The foreign-player roster, except for Cleiton Silva, is brand new.

The High Court of Karnataka on Tuesday ordered the issue of a notice to the State government on a PIL petition, which had complained about disturbances caused to people residing in the localities around the National Public School situated in Rajajinagar 5th block due to use of loudspeakers with high volume in the school and parking of school buses in residential areas.
