A.P. Legislative Assembly's petitions committee holds first meeting under chairman K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, emphasizing public participation and awareness.
The first meeting of petitions committee of A.P. Legislative Assembly was organised by its chairman and A.P. Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker K. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju at the Circuit House here on Tuesday. The members of the committee, AP TDP president Palla Srinivasa Rao, Bheemunipatnam MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Visakhapatnam North MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju, Anakapalli MLA Konathala Ramakrishna, MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy and others were present.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Raghu Ramakrishna Raju said that people can submit their complaints to A.P. Legislative Assembly, mentioning their names, address and contact number. While discussing the petition, the petitioner will also be called, he said. The members of the committee will discuss it and take it to the notice of the government or the Assembly to resolve them, he said.
Mr. Raju said that they have been working on creating awareness about the functioning of the petitions committee. He noted that even many MLAs are not aware of the committee.
He alleged that in the last five years under the YSRCP rule, the petitions committee has never met. But, now under the NDA government, the committee will function effectively, he stated.
