Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to congratulate Nikhat after her magnificent win. The Mahindra Group chairman also thanked her for ‘telling the world what you are and what India is.’

Nikhat became the fifth Indian woman boxer to do so after Mary Kom, Sarita Devi, Jenny RL and Lekha KC.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the boxing champion on Twitter. “Our boxers have made us proud! Congratulations to @nikhat_zareen for a fantastic Gold medal win at the Women's World Boxing Championship,” he wrote.
