Naidu announces completion of North Andhra irrigation projects and highlights Bhogapuram Airport's role in regional development and employment.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said the government will take steps to complete all irrigation projects in the North Andhra region in three years to ensure water supply to every acre.
With Google Data Centre coming to Visakhapatnam and companies like TCS and Cognizant poised to start their operations soon, the IT growth was visible in the region, Mr. Naidu said while addressing a large gathering after the launch of the National HPV Vaccination programme at Ravivasala village in Vizianagaram district on Saturday.
The Bhogapuram International Airport would accelerate development and employment in the North Andhra region, he added.
Mr. Naidu further alleged that the previous government had disrespected Lord Venkateswara of Tirumala by compromising on the quality of laddu prasadam.
“I do not wish to politicise religious matters, but, at the same time, I have the responsibility to inform the public about the issue,” the Chief Minister said.
Stating that he had been personally participating in the pension distribution programme on the first of every month for the past 20 months, Mr. Naidu said as many as 62,76,322 beneficiaries were receive pension across the State, with a monthly expenditure of ₹2,726 crore.
