Dileep's anticipatory bail plea will be heard on January 14. The actor was charged as the first accused in the 2017 Malayalam actress sexual assault and abduction case.
A Malayalam actress was abducted and molested on her way back home in 2017. A case was registered against South actor Dileep and five others by the Crime Branch of Kerala Police. An FIR was filed against Dileep for allegedly threatening investigation officers. Amid the possibilities of arrest, Dileep, his brother Anoop and his brother-in-law, Sooraj had approached the court seeking anticipatory bail. As per the latest update, the anticipatory bail hearing has been moved to Friday.
